NWSGet 2.2.1 - Automatic NWS Radar Image importation into Ui-View32
Ridge Radar images can now be freely downloaded from the RIDGE NWS web site www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge/RadarImg/ and imported into UiView32/PMapServerX. The images are generally updated by NWS approximately every 5-12 minutes. The Ridge Radar products downloaded by NWSGet 2 include:
Short range reflectivity
Short range composite
Long range reflectivity
Storm relative motion
Storm velocity
1 hour precipitation
Storm total precipitation
NWSGet can also download continental US radar images from Texas A&M and Iowa State University.
NEW with version 2.2.0: NWSGet now
downloads a National mosaic Radar image provided by the NWS Ridge team. In addition,
the Ridge team has provided sectional radar mosaic images. These radar images have
lower resolution than ConUS and USRad but should be useful to users with limited bandwidth
Internet connections.
NWSGet permits the user to easily select a Radar image URL for automatic download. After the radar image is downloaded, it is converted to bmp format for display as a Precision Mapping Streets underlay in Ui-View32. The UiView map display can be automatically redrawn to display the new Radar data.
NWSGet 2 includes an option for a single NWSGet session on a Local Area Network to supply raw Radar images to NWSGet clients on the LAN. NWSGet clients do not require an Internet connection, as they receive images from the server and convert them as needed. This is intended for use in EOC's, or by other users with multiple computers running UiView/PMapServer7.
NWSGet is available for use, free of charge for non-commercial, personal or SkyWarn use. NWSGet is intended for use in all Skywarn activities. Contact the author for details concerning commercial and business use. Download latest NWSGet version (2.2.1) here.
NWSGet Requires an Internet connection, and Precision Mapping 3.1 or later for use
with Precision Mapping Streets only.
NWSGet Ui-View users require registered versions of Ui-View32
2.03 or later, and PmapServer6 1.5 or later, registered versions of PMap 6.0 or
later. Precision Mapping Streets and Traveler 7.0 is recommended.
Precision Mapping QuickFinder will NOT work with Ui-View32 and
PMapServer6 or PMapServer7!
NWSGet underlays will NOT work with Ui-View and PMap 5.0 (PMapServer) or versions
of PMapServer6 prior to version 1.5!
